Rev. Kevin M. Freeman

The Rev. Kevin M. Freeman is a native of Franklin, Virginia, and was born to McCarthy and Jean Freeman.

Rev. Freeman is the oldest of three children and was educated in the Franklin Public Schools where he participated in band, football and wrestling before graduating in 1981.

Rev. Freeman is a graduate of Norfolk State University and holds a B.S. Degree in Education. He is currently participating in graduate studies at Anderson University, South Carolina for a Masters in Ministry, M. Min.. Rev. Freeman worked 15 ½ years as a Juvenile Probation Officer with Norfolk Court Services.  Currently, Rev. Freeman is employed as a Youth Counselor with the City of Norfolk at the Norfolk Detention Center, and has over twenty-six years experience working with children and their families.

Rev. Freeman is married to the former Donna J. Brothers and they have a daughter, Jovan Monique Freeman, who is a senior at Norfolk State University. The family resides in the City of Virginia Beach.

Rev. Freeman was called to the Ministry in 1999. He was licensed by the United Church of Christ Denomination in
January of 2000 where he has held various ministerial positions.

Rev. Freeman has also been employed as a part time Trainer/ Consultant where he facilitated the School Violence Prevention Training for the City of San Francisco, California in 1994. He also has provided Parenting Workshops for North Chicago

Public Schools in Great Lakes, Illinois in 1995. Rev. Freeman conducted citywide Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
for the City of Suffolk, Virginia in 1996. He also developed and facilitated the Anti-Truancy program groups for Norfolk
Juvenile Court, Norfolk, Virginia in 1997.

Currently, Rev. Freeman is a member of Fellowship United Church of Christ and serves as Associate Pastor and Advisor to
the Youth and Christian Education Ministry.

Rev. Freeman is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
